Carrie’s First Sale!

TODAY we learned that Carrie sold her first fiber art piece! The piece in question is pictured above, and is titled “Incomplete.”

FOR the past few weeks she’s had several pieces hanging in a natural fabric store / gallery downtown. Today I walked into the gallery to buy a Christmas gift, and while surveying Carrie’s work, I noticed that one was piece was missing. The proprietess confirmed that a piece had been purchased, apparently quite recently. She said that a mother and daughter were in the gallery and admired the piece, and the mother later returned and bought the piece for her daughter.

CARRIE and I both wish we had some idea who had bought it! How strange to have something you’ve made valued highly enough that a person would pay good money to own it, and give it a special place in their home — and yet to have no idea who that person is, or where your work has gone.

MOSTLY I’m just proud of Carrie, as proud as a peacock. Her recent work is so exciting, it’s great to see that the word is getting out.
